Waterford Crystal Repair

The Waterford crystal  cut glass  dish had a large chip in the lid . The chip  was ground out and polished but then it didn’t fit.  The top was to large so it would slide around when you placed it on topof the dish. So I made a new inside lip by cutting a piece of crystal and grinding it fit like a very thin stopper.

This was  a difficult repair and I didn’t know how I was going to do it when I started.

Waterford Crystal Vase chipped foot

A beautiful Waterford crystal vase was sent to me for repair. It had a large chip in the foot. By grinding and polishing I reshaped the foot .

The Waterford lamp  fell on the floor and broke the base off.  I cut off the broken part and ground the bottom of the lamp  flat. Then I started looking for a new base. The size ,shape and pattern were important .

Grind and polish the new base and drill a hole for the lamp cord to go through. I attached the new base and this job is done .

With pieces parts from a broken hurrican lamp and a broken ships decanter I made a crystal lamp. Sorry I did not have the crystal globe to put on it . They didn’t send it along with the other pieces it must not have got damaged.

It takes a little bit of design but from this will come a new Waterford Crystal  Lamp. After cutting off the broken neck of the decanter and smoothing the top I drilled a hole for the wire to come out.

This item was shipped to us with a broken top. We removed the broken parts of the Hurricane lamp and attached a part from a chandelier to the top of the Hurricane. You can see the broken part in item one. See below for the pictures of the repair.
